After upgrading to Sequoia, I've noticed my desktop widgets being flaky. At first they were there, then they simply disappeared. I've noticed that I can't click on the time to get the Notification Center to come up and that the Notification Center process isn't running. I've tried to start it with launchctl , but I get Input/Output errors. Anyone else seeing this?

I had this issue and found a solution so just wanted to leave it here for anybody that may stumble upon this.
Navigate to
`~/Library/Group Containers/group.com.apple.UserNotifications/Library/UserNotifications/Remote/default`
There delete everything inside... I didn't have to restart the computer but you might have to.
It was terrible not to have any notifications! Also, if you installed any new apps and they request notifications they basically hang and eventually crash so this is a very painful bug.
Hope that helps

I am having the same issue after installing 15.0.1, albeit on an M2 Macbook Pro. No notifications appearing, desktop widgets don't appear, can't click the clock (or swipe) to open Notification Center, can't access the Notifications section of System Settings, can't Edit Widgets.
Have tried safe mode, rebooting, killing and restarting Notification Center, etc, with no luck. People on other social media sites are reporting the same issue occurring since the release of 15.0.0 but it just started today for me after installing 15.0.1

ok, for those following along.
I have a MBP 2019 i9. I have backed up and completely reinstalled my Mac after discovering some disk errors doing a first aid. Since the reinstall everything seems to be working as it should. I haven't connected up my Phone yet, but notifications are working fine again. As well as some other apps that were "beach balling" on me.
Your milage may vary, but, at this point I would recommend backing up, completely wiping the drive and then reinstalling from scratch. Don't do a restore as anything that might have been corrupted could be restored in a corrupted state.

Update: I have everything reinstalled and have my phone connected. After doing the wipe and reinstall. I installed everything manually because I didn't want to restore anything that was corrupted. Everything is working great. On the upside, I think my machine is running substantially faster.

My notification center and notifications have come back for me but only after quitting the app Lunar which controls the screen brightness - I did this after somebody mentioned it was related to screen mirroring which I know Lunar leverages when you want to black out one of your monitors. I left the computer for 40 min and when I came back a bunch of notifications were prompting me. Hopefully this helps somebody. Still no Siri functionality for me.

Wait on the Siri functionality I quickly stumbled onto this page with a command for Terminal and it now works for me. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/how-to-enable-new-siri-interface-on-ios-18-and-macos-sequoia.2429502/

I did create a new user. And it was super annoying. And it worked for a few days, until today, when my M1 iMac stopped showing notifications and the whole Notification Center crashes if I try to open the Notifications System Preferences.

I had this problem, too. So I took a look into Notifications--> Notification center. The switch on Allow notifications when mirroring or sharing the display was off, I put it ON and notifications appeared.

I am having the same issue but unfortunately when I navigate to this path, the Remote folder is empty. No default file at all. I assume I could make an empty file simply called default and that would potentially fix the issue? What is that default file type?

As an update, Notification Center has been up and running all morning just fine. No idea why compared to the last two days. Fingers crossed.

This is not working on my Silicon Mac Studio 2023. Tried booting in Safe Mode too. On top of it, Feedback is not allowing me to sign in to submit this as a bug.

I was able to get notifications to work in Safe Mode, but when I rebooted again and went through the normal process - nothing. No calendar alerts, app notifications etc.
